Cub Scout Pack 100

Aaron Densmore and Andrew Weinberger were awarded their Bobcat rank badges at Pack 100's August meeting. This is the first rank badge that is earned by all Cub Scouts after first grade.

Many new scouts were recruited at School Night for Scouting, but it's not too late to sign up. Boys ages 7-10 (grades 1-5) can join Cub Scouts by calling Christine Smith (858-0306) or Glen and Ruth Weinberger (887-1729).

The quality of the scouting program depends on the number of dedicated scouts, parents and adult volunteers. Our local Cub Scouts still need a Charter Organizational Representative (must be a member of the Wilmore United Methodist Church), Committee Members, Den Chiefs, and Den Leaders for first, second and fourth grade dens.

If you would like to invest in the lives of these boys, please contact Christine Smith, Ruth Weinberger, or Dianne Densmore (858-9015). Several training sessions are planned and many resources are available to assist you in becoming a successful leader.

Those who have committed to be Den Leaders are: Mike Smith and Patsy West (2nd year Webelos/5th grade); Tim Rothgeb (1st year Webelos/4th grade); and Glen Weinberger, John Woloschek, Troy Ray, and Randall Jamieson (Bears/3rd grade).

Pack meetings are held on the 3rd Thurs-day of each month. All Cub Scouts should attend with their families. Dens of 6-8 boys meet weekly at a time established by the Den Leader (usually Tuesday or Thursday evening).

Boy Scout Troop 55

Young men ages 11-17 are eligible for Boy Scouts. Contact Scoutmaster James Demaray (858-3164) for sign up information. The Troop meets every Monday 7-8:15 p.m.

We schedule at least one outing per month on a weekend to go hiking, camping, canoeing, rock climbing, skiing, or some other fun activity. There will be opportunities for service projects throughout the year.

Philip Sheldon, Dan Smith, Nathan Frank-lin, Chris Arvin, Chris Bozelli, and John Meade attended a week of Boy Scout Summer Camp at Camp McKee in June.

Ryan Rawls and Shawn Demaray have completed all the requirements for Eagle (the highest rank in Scouting), except for the service projects, which have been approved.

Adult troop leadership consists of Scout-master James Demaray, Assistant Scoutmasters Charlie Fiskeaux II, Mike Smith, John Wilson, and J.D. Wilson, Troop Committee Chairwoman Susan Rawls; and Troop Committee Members Charlene Demaray, Carol Wilson, Bernice Jackson, Joey Sheldon, K.K. Coble, Ed Hickey, Chrisa Hickey, and Christine Smith.
