In August, the Wilmore City Council:
- Approved a property tax increase from $0.175 per hundred
dollars to $0.179 for real property in Wilmore. (This amounts to a
$4.00 per year increase on a house valued at $100,000.)
- Worked on an employee manual for city employees.
- Considered a scaled-down cost estimate on a paved trail from
Epworth Drive to Veterans Drive.
- Defined as new business anything that has not appeared on the
agenda or in the minutes in the previous 60 days. (The City
Council does not vote on new business unless it is an emergency.
At a subsequent meeting it will be old business and may be acted
on. This allows time for public input.)
- Examined the possibilities for a park in the area of the
Woodspointe/Meadow/Butler Subdivisions.
- Investigated possibilities for a sidewalk along 1268 linking
Kinlaw Drive to existing sidewalks.
- Discussed the advisability of placing stop signs at the corner
of Woodspointe Way and Wise Drive.
- Considered changing the fee structure so that any business
would pay $50 per year for a business license and this money would
be used to fund projects of Wilmore's Community Development Board.
- Heard a request from Bill Ward for the annexation of 1.9 acres
on Jessamine Station Road.
