May report 1997

In June the Wilmore City Council:
• Met with City Auditor, Ken Daugherty to get more information on the possibility of refinancing the city's debt.
• Discontinued the Business Incentive Program for downtown. The Wilmore Community Development Committee will recommend ways in which funds formerly used for this program can be used to benefit downtown.
• Approved the concept of Wilmore's participation in a Central Communication System.
• Looked favorably on applying for a grant to be used for the expansion of the city's water plant.
• Met with developers regarding a proposed addition to Woodspointe subdivision and the extension of Butler Boulevard to Jessamine Station Road.
• Approved the 1997-98 budget, contingent on further action taken no later than October 1 on items such as refinancing the debt, utility rate increases, etc.
