Reuse of Granary Building to be Studied

The Wilmore Community Plan  recognized that one of the elements to downtown revitalization is the renovation of the granary building as a historic preservation, tourism, and economic development opportunity.  The property owner also recognizes the historic and economic significance of this building and property and is willing to partner with the City in revitalizing the site.

The City, thus, applied for a grant through the Kentucky Heritage Council to conduct a Feasibility Analysis to determine appropriate reuse of the building and adjacent 3 acres.  Community input will be solicited to determine the reuse of the facility.

The project is intended to help stabilize the Main Street project and provide further motivation for other revitalization efforts in the community.
