Meeting or Hearing

The Roseglade Decision

At its November 3 meeting the Wilmore City Council voted to schedule a special called meeting at 7 p.m., November 10, at the Wilmore Elementary School.  The purpose of the meeting will be to set a date for the Councilís decision regarding the request for a zone change for Roseglade Farm.

On September 25, the Jessamine County-Wilmore Joint Planning Commission held a public hearing and recommended that Roseglade's request for a zone change from agricultural to rural transitional be denied.

The Council now has until December 24 (90 days) to vote whether to accept or reverse the recommendation of the Planning Commission on the basis of the record contained in the 200-plus-page transcript of the public hearing along with attached exhibits, OR the council may decide to hold their own public hearing. The course of action to be taken will be decided at the special meeting on November 10.

NO VOTE WILL BE TAKEN TO EITHER APPROVE OR DENY THE REQUESTED ZONE CHANGE ON NOVEMBER 10.  AT THAT MEETING THE COUNCIL WILL DETERMINE WHICH COURSE OF ACTION TO FOLLOW.

IF A PUBLIC HEARING IS HELD, THE DATE WILL BE NOVEMBER 24. IF THE COUNCIL DECIDES NOT TO HOLD ANOTHER PUBLIC HEARING AND TO VOTE ON THE BASIS OF THE RECORD OF THE PLANNING COMMISSIONíS PUBLIC HEARING, THAT VOTE IS SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 17.
