Summer Recreation Director Honored

National Institute Selects Amy Allen

Amy P. Allen was selected in a nationwide search as an intern with the National Parks and Recreation. Amy, who graduated in May from Asbury College, and served as director of the Wilmore Summer Recreation, will begin her new duties on August 4, 1997.

Amy will be working at the Ahrens National Recreation and Park Association Institute, serving as a program coordinator for the NRPA National Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Institute, dedicated June 27, 1997, is located in Ashburn, Virginia, and is the home to NRPA's national headquarters, the Recreation and Parks Hall of Fame, and the Joseph Lee Memorial Library, a research and archival library for the public and members of the park and recreation field.

Amy was awarded the Kentucky Recreation and Park Senior Award and Scholarship Award. She also was selected for the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Senior Award. Amy, we are proud of you!
