On September 11 a new Wilmore business, From the Ridge, will open at 312 East Main Street. The craft store will feature the work of local artists, including Howard Fain and the owner of the business, Vicki Gunn, who does decorative painting. Crafts of local quilters, basket weavers, candle makers and artisans who crochet and do needle work will also be available for sale.
Vicki paints on gourds, pieces of wood and other materials, many of which come from the ridge where her parents live in Monroe County. Thus, the name of the store, From the Ridge.
The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday. Come and celebrate the Grand Opening September 12-13 and welcome Wilmore's newest business. (Phone: 858-9294)
