Wilmore Parks and Recreation

After School Recreation Club

Wilmore Summer Recreation is over. School is back in session and the days are beginning to get shorter. Wilmore has an exciting new program that will begin on September 21 at the Wilmore Elementary School. An After-School Recreation Club is being formed, meeting Monday through Friday, 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM for Wilmore Elementary students in 2nd - 5th grades. There will be activities planned every day which include sports, group games, arts and crafts, drama, homework help, and special events. The cost will be $10 per week.

The staff for this new program includes some familiar faces from Wilmore Summer Recreation. I will be directing the program and Blaine Keene (counselor from this past summer) will be the Assistant Director. Other staff will include junior and senior recreation majors from Asbury College. All staff are experienced, enthusiastic and ready to play!

Flyers about this program will be sent home with the students the week of September 7th. Registrations will not be taken until September 14th. Space is limited to 40 participants, so be planning ahead now.

A special thank you to Wilmore Elementary School Principal Mrs. Vice and Family Resource Center Director Mrs. Wilkinson, for making this program possible for the students of Wilmore Elementary.

I would also like to extend my appreciation to the campers, and their parents, who participated in Wilmore Summer Recreation this year. We had a fantastic summer and I would really like to have everyone back again for next year! Thank you for your support.
