The Festival on the Wilmore Campground begins at 11:00 a.m. Food will be served in the dining hall from 11-2, with free cake and ice cream served at 2 (as long as supplies last). Live music and entertainment will be provided through the day by Rostulara, Jacky Waldrop, Calvary Messengers, and "The Wall".

Local artisans will be displaying and selling their crafts and a photographer will be available for family reunion pictures. There will be carnival games and prizes, a dunking booth and field games for families.

You won't want to miss the contests. Entries for the cake decorating contests need to be in the dining hall by 11:30 a.m. for judging at noon. The best decorated cake with a patriotic theme will win $50 with a second prize of $25. The Cherry Pie Contest judging will also be at noon with a first prize of $50 and a 2nd prize of $25.

The Youth Tabernacle will be the site of the spelling bee with 7-10 and 11-14 year-olds competing for prizes. To participate be there by 11:45 a.m. for the contest which begins at noon. Even if you don't enter a pet, be sure to attend the pet show with judging at 1:00 p.m.

At 3:00 p.m. the community will gather at the corner of Main Street and Butler Boulevard for the dedication of Wilmore's newest park, the Braden Park. (See article for additional information.) The day will end with fireworks with R. J. Corman inviting all of us to his farm on Jessamine Station Road for the annual fireworks display beginning at 9:00 p.m.

If you've been a part of Wilmore's Festival of the Fourth before, we don't have to say any more because we know you will want to be there. If you are new in town, or for some other reason, you have never attended it before, we can assure you that this celebration will make you glad you are a part of Wilmore. Don't miss it. The family reunion won't be complete without you!
