
In July, the Wilmore City Council:
- Approved the installation of a new street light at Camp Ground Lane and East Main Street.
- Checked into problems with the delayed sounding of the emergency siren.
- Denied a request from Asbury Theological Seminary to waive the 2% occupational tax on the payroll for employees at their Florida campus.
- Received checks for $1,000 each from Central Bank, R.J. Corman Railroad Construction, and Taylor Made Farms as a co-sponsor of the Festival of the Fourth 5-K Run.
- Received a $2,000 check from Jessamine County Fiscal Court for the D.A.R.E. program.
- Amended the 2% tax ordinance to allow transfer of excess funds to the City's general fund after the auditor finds that all bond payments and required reserves have been satisfied
- With the help of Bluegrass Conservancy Attorney Margaret Graves, worked on creating a conservation easement agreement in conjunction with the rural transition zone granted to Roseglade Farm
- Received a report from City Utilities Director Dave Carlstedt regarding the need for improvements of some of the City's sanitary sewer system
